2015 Ford F-150 Lariat Guide

More comfort features mean more systems to check.

The 2015 F-150 Lariat steps up from the XLT with more comfort-oriented equipment. It is worth checking every installed feature because repairs to seats, climate controls and electronic equipment may add to used-truck ownership costs.

How Lariat differs from XLT

Lariat emphasizes premium seating and cabin technology, with appearance and feature availability shaped by the equipment group and packages. Confirm details through the original vehicle build, rather than assuming all Lariats carry every option.

Equipment worth testing

Operate each power seat adjustment and memory function if fitted. Test climate control, heated or ventilated seat functions if present, windows, mirrors, SYNC, audio, backup camera and parking assistance where equipped.

Appearance and off-road packages

Selected Lariats could be configured with Sport or Chrome treatments. The FX4 off-road package was available on qualifying 4x4 models. Inspect tires, suspension, underbody and 4WD operation on vehicles used off pavement.

Mechanical checks before buying

Do the same engine, transmission, brake, tire and recall checks you would perform on an XL or XLT. Luxury equipment does not change the need for complete service records and a competent independent inspection.

Is the Lariat worth the upgrade?

Compare the actual features you will use against purchase price, condition and potential repair costs. A carefully maintained XLT may be a better purchase than a neglected Lariat, and vice versa.

Research and model-year references

Consult the 2015 Ford F-150 specifications, Ford owner manual and the truck’s original window sticker or build sheet. Appearance and equipment groups varied by original order.

DON'S OWNER NOTES

I own a Blue Flame Metallic 2015 Ford F-150 XLT and plan to add firsthand observations, photos and maintenance notes to these guides. I won't present an untested repair as something I've personally done.
